Barre Classes with Miss Kelsey
Kelsey, a Swampscott native started dancing when she was just 2 years old. Kelsey was captain of the Swampscott High school dance team under the head coaching of Miss Lisa. Dancing competitively throughout her high school years, Kelsey decided to pursue dance in college. In May of 2013, she graduated from Roger Williams University in Rhode Island with a BA in Dance Performance and Choreography as well as a BA in Psychology. Kelsey was a member of the RWU Dance Theatre through which she frequently studied and performed with some of our country’s most respected choreographers in the dance world such as Sean Curran, Jenny Rocha, and Christina Robson to name a few. Kelsey and her fellow company members performed at the prestigious American College Dance Festival Gala. As a creative choreographer, Kelsey’s own work won placement in RWU’s annual choreography showcase. Kelsey has danced three seasons with the Boston Cannons Dance Team at both Gillette Stadium and Harvard Stadium from 2015-2017 as well as a semester with DanceWorks Boston.
As a teacher, Kelsey started in high school as an assistant and fell in love with sharing the studio with young ones. Throughout college Kelsey taught summer intensive classes as well as dance camp type classes for younger kids. After graduating in 2013 she has taught jazz, tap, modern, pom and lyrical to ages 5-18. In 2014 Kelsey fell in love with Barre and Cardio classes and was certified a few months later. As an instructor in barre for a year in Massachusetts, Kelsey moved to New Hampshire where she spent two years helping others achieve their goals in fitness. After having taught many genres of dance for nearly 10 years as well as barre and fitness for four years, Kelsey has moved back to Swampscott and is excited to share her passion with those in her hometown.

Zumba Classes with Kellie
Kellie Faulkner is a former professional film and television actress with a background in musical theater. As a young girl, the opportunity to train as a dancer was overshadowed by competitive sports. It wasn’t until her freshman year of college that Kellie decided to give Ballet a try. It didn’t go well at first – her Grand Jetes looked more like a basketball player going for a full court press! However, she had three things going for her: musicality, a talent for acting, and sheer determination. Years later, these three elements ignited to deliver one of the hottest dance fitness parties on the North Shore.
Fitness has always been important to Kellie, but the passion for teaching surfaced when she was introduced to the Zumba Fitness program in 2006. Kellie is licensed to teach: Zumba Fitness, Zumba Toning, and STRONG by Zumba. Her classes are designed to push students to the next level, mentally and physically, while providing a unique, exhilarating experience through music and dance.
"I've been taking Zumba classes for over 5 years and have experienced many different instructors, all of whom are very good, but what makes me more motivated and excited for Kellie's class is that she always changes up her routine and is constantly challenging us. Kellie's workouts do show results. I'm not bored in her class, the music is always changing and the hour goes by very fast. Thank you Kellie for being an inspiration to all of us."
