Our Philosophy

Established in 2006, All About Dance provides a well-rounded dance education and an opportunity for your child to discover the joys of dance.   All About Dance provides an excellent dance education in a positive learning environment that emphasizes team-work, respect and responsibility. The combination of our expert faculty and our encouraging learning environment helps to develop our dancer’s self-confidence.  On our website you will find everything you need to make the right choice in dance training.  We feel that after you have reviewed our website, visited our studio and spoke with our director and staff, you will want to join our All About Dance family! All About Dance was voted Reader's Choice Awards, #1 Dancing School in Swampscott since 2007.  All About Dance was also voted "MOST LOVED" 2019 and 2020 by HulaFrog and is a proud member of I.D.E.A..

Miss Lisa Faia ~ Founder ~ Artistic Director

Lisa studied dance at the Eleanor Rubino Academy of Performing Arts for many years under the distinguished Eleanor Rubino. Miss Lisa has also studied in New  York under famous choreographers such as Mandy Moore, Joey Dowling and  Travis Wall from “So You Think You Can Dance”, Finis Jhung, Ray Leeper and  Bob Rizzo.

 

Lisa is a graduate of the Dance Teacher’s Club of Boston’s Teacher Training  Program. Lisa is the founder of the Swampscott High School Dance Team where she was  the Head Coach, Director and Choreographer for 6 years. Her dancers have  performed for the Boston Celtics at the TD BankNorth Garden. She was also the Dance Coordinator for the Swampscott Pop Warner Cheerleading Association.  Lisa is certified in CPR/First Aid.

 

Lisa has competed in many competitions including Encore, ADA and Terpsichore Awards. She is the recipient of the bronze, silver and gold bars for testing in jazz and tap from the National Council of Dance Teacher Organization, Inc. In addition to working with other choreographers, Lisa regularly attends conventions and takes master teaching classes to keep up to date with the latest styles and techniques in the field of dance as well as Business courses to keep the studio updated with the latest technology. Her passion, love of dance and the knowledge she has gained, combined with her warm personality, has enabled her to share her talents with others. Miss Lisa is a proud member of I.D.E.A.  She is a Gold Alliance Leader and a member of Julie Kay Stallcup's JKSOM.

Christina McGahey ~  Assistant Artistic Director ~ Competition Director

Christina has been teaching dance for the past 19 years. She has taught primary, intermediate, and advanced levels. Her students have competed both regionally and nationally and have won numerous gold medals, high scores, and special awards. Christina choreographs routines for those students who want to compete. Christina has been recognized and awarded for her choreography. She is also a member of the Dance Teachers Club of Boston.

 

As a dancer and model, Christina has competed both regionally and nationally holding many gold, high gold and platinum medals. She was the East Coast High Point National Grand Champion, holding the titles of Miss Boston Model, and Miss Boston Talent at the America Miss Competition. She was 1st runner-up and also the creative and performing arts winner in the Suffolk County Junior Miss Program. At the prestigious Dance Masters of America Miss Dance Competition, she has placed in the top 12, and also was awarded for consecutive years as the overall winner in tap, jazz, ballet, and acrobat classes.

 

Christina has danced with the United States Wrestling Federation, and has appeared as a dancer in Joey and Maria’s Comedy Wedding. She also has performed for many benefits, gala events, and at Disney World Florida.

Miss Norma Jean Fowler ~ Teacher

We are so excited to have Miss Norma join the All About Dance family.  Miss Norma's objective is to teach dance, movement, music awareness and artistic creativity to students from beginning to very advanced levels. Miss Norma's priority is to insight self-awareness and self esteem in young and teen students, as well as, introducing them to multi disciplined dance techniques.

Miss Norma is Certified by exam Alixa Flexibility level 3. Also certified by exam Cecchetti Council of America Professional levels, Certified by exam Dance Masters of Michigan and America, Ballet and Jazz.  Certified by exam Dance Educators of America, Jazz and Ballet. Certified by exam Dance Teachers Club of Boston.  Certified by exam Levels 1-6 Acrobatic Arts.  Certified by exam in the three years course study encompassing the eight year program of Leningrad's Vagonava School. Continued studies in NY, LA, CL and MI with Master Teachers in all dance subjects throughout the years.  Miss Norma has been teaching dance for over 43 years.  We are honored that she has chosen All About Dance to continue to share her passion, love and dedication of dance with our students.

Kelsey Bertram ~ Teacher

Kelsey, a Swampscott native started dancing when she was just 2 years old.  Kelsey was captain of the Swampscott High school dance team under the head coaching of Miss Lisa. Dancing competitively throughout her high school years, Kelsey decided to pursue dance in college.  In May of 2013, she graduated from Roger Williams University in Rhode Island with a BA in Dance Performance and Choreography as well as a BA in Psychology. Kelsey was a member of the RWU Dance Theatre through which she frequently studied and performed with some of our country’s most respected choreographers in the dance world such as Sean Curran, Jenny Rocha, and Christina Robson to name a few. Kelsey and her fellow company members performed at the prestigious American College Dance Festival Gala. As a creative choreographer, Kelsey’s own work won placement in RWU’s annual choreography showcase.  Kelsey has danced three seasons with the Boston Cannons Dance Team at both Gillette Stadium and Harvard Stadium from 2015-2017 as well as a semester with DanceWorks Boston.

 

As a teacher, Kelsey started in high school as an assistant and fell in love with sharing the studio with young ones.  Throughout college Kelsey taught summer intensive classes as well as dance camp type classes for younger kids.  After graduating in 2013 she has taught jazz, tap, modern, pom and lyrical to ages 5-18.  In 2014 Kelsey fell in love with Barre and Cardio classes and was certified a few months later.  As an instructor in barre for a year in Massachusetts, Kelsey moved to New Hampshire where she spent two years helping others achieve their goals in fitness.  After having taught many genres of dance for nearly 10 years as well as barre and fitness for four years, Kelsey has moved back to Swampscott and is excited to share her passion with those in her hometown.

Allison Ferris  ~  Preschool Teacher

Allison Ferris is a Marblehead native, who attended and graduated from Marblehead High School. During her time at Marblehead High School she was part of her high school dance team from sophomore year to senior year. She has been dancing since she was little, and came to All About Dance as a senior company dancer. Along with being a senior company dancer, she was an assistant for Miss Lisa. She took her classes during the week, and on the weekend came back to the studio to assist Miss Lisa with the young dancers.  By observing and helping Miss Lisa, she developed her passion for teaching dance. Allison realized how much of a difference a dance teacher can make in a student's life. Also, she realized how much fun, it is to teach, and strives to bring that level of fun to every one of her classes while still helping kids develop the necessary skills to improve their dancing.  

 

Allison attended Endicott College, where she obtained her Bachelor of Arts in Liberal Studies Education with a concentration in Early Childhood Education Licensure.  She is currently pursuing her masters degree in moderate disabilities at Endicott College.  Her goal is by the end of her college career, she will be a special education teacher along with being a dance teacher.

Kayla LeClerc ~ Musical Theatre Teacher

Miss Kayla is so excited to join the team at AAD! Kayla has always loved singing, dancing and having fun on stage with students. Right out of high school, she started assisting with productions at Swampscott High School and continues to enjoy producing musicals there annually. Kayla had the pleasure of directing six productionsas the Swampscott Middle School Drama Club from 2016-2020. Most recently, Kayla enjoyed assistant directing Swampscott Summer Theater’s production of Frozen Kids in 2021. Kayla is so excited to add the role of teacher to her AAD resumé, along with proud dance mom, studio travel coordinator and recital sound technician.

Jacquie Masone ~ Hip Hop Teacher

Miss Jacquie started dancing at the age of 2 1/2 and has been teaching various styles of dance to all ages for the past 17 years. Boston born and raised, she has competed regionally and nationally as well as preformed  throughout the east coast including, Disney World’s Magic Kingdom. Jacquie was a member of the All About Dance Team from 2010-2015. She went on to pursue a career in Property Management, and start a family. We are excited to welcome her back to the All About Dance Family!
